ChatGPT

How ChatGPT can help you

Ask it for feedback on your writing

ChatGPT (or a similar tool) can be another source of feedback. You can copy/paste your work into ChatGPT and ask it to review your writing for errors. It will provide a list of suggestions that you can use to improve your writing.

Here is a response from ChatGPT when it was asked, "What are the errors in my writing?"

Your original writing was relatively clear and easy to understand, but there were a few areas where improvements could be made:

  1. Sentence structure: Some of your sentences were quite long and complex, which made them difficult to follow. Breaking them down into shorter, more concise sentences would make your writing clearer and easier to understand.

  2. Grammar and punctuation: There were a few errors in your use of grammar and punctuation, such as missing commas and run-on sentences. Correcting these mistakes would improve the clarity and readability of your writing.

  3. Clarity of expression: In some places, your writing could have been more clear and concise. For example, when you wrote "more times than it should've happened," it would have been clearer to simply say "too often." Simplifying your language in this way would make your writing more accessible to a wider audience.

Follow up: You can also ask it how to fix errors. Ask, "What is a comma spliace and how do I fix it?" and ChatGPT will explain the error and ways to correct it.

Ask it for definitions

If you need a concept explained or defined, ChatGPT (or a similar tool) can provide that explanation in as detailed or simple a manner as you would like. It can provide you with a variety of definitions, descriptions, and explanations -- but be sure to evaluate them carefully to ensure they are related to your information need or context.

Ask it for insight into solving large scale problems

ChatGPT can generate ideas or list possible solutions for problems or questions that are complex or difficult to solve. Try asking, "How do we solve [problem]?" and see if it inspires you to change the world.

ChatGPT can even help you study by creating mind maps, flashcards, study timetables, and more.
