Learning about Search Terms & Terminology

These resources list current social vocabulary relating to LGBTQ issues. Keyword and natural language searching will find many of these terms in relevant articles and news stories, both in PubMed and in other databases.

Keywords & Searching Techniques

When searching for topics in our databases assigned to Gender & Women'S Studies, Queer Studies or LGBTQ resources, you will have better results if you are aware of commonly used  terminology and spell our whole words rather than relying on just using acronyms.  In no particular order, below is a list of words and phrases that you might consider using when you search for topics for your research:
