FutureLearn - Languages

MIT Open Courseware - Global Studies & Languages
MIT Global Studies and Languages offers a rich collection of courses, seminar series, and research projects to allow students to attain both linguistic competence and a solid understanding of cultural and historical contexts.

BBC Languages
Lessons, phrases, vocabulary, tests, and links to news sources in 40 languages. Site is no longer updated, but most resources are still very useful.
Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning
COERLL's mission is to produce and disseminate Open Educational Resources (OER) for the Internet public (e.g., online language courses, reference grammars, assessment tools, corpora, etc.).
Duolingo
Duolingo is a free language learning resource that offers support for languages including French, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, Korean, Chinese, and Hebrew.
Forvo
Forvo is the largest online reference for pronunciations with a database of nearly 6 million words pronounced in over 390 languages – all created and maintained by native speakers.
LangMedia
Language by Country videos focus on practical aspects of everyday life. They were filmed by Five College international students between 1999 and 2002. Some cultural information is out-of-date, but many of the videos remain linguistically useful. Transcripts and translations are provided.
Memrise
Interactive flashcard site for memorizing vocabulary. Offers pre-built flashcard sets for a wide variety of languages.
Mis Cositas
Resources for Spanish, French, Chinese, and Italian. Includes: Videos, thematic curriculum units complete lesson plans, student worksheets and resources, downloadable materials collections with activities, manipulatives and mini-posters over 40 virtual illustrated picturebooks organized thematically, as well as a list of vetted links.
World Language Resources

The tutorials on this site are designed to reinforce vocabulary and spelling for beginning students of modern Hebrew. Some tutorials show words in Hebrew and ask for the English translation.
