Government Websites for Business Research

Public Company Filings

Through the Securities and Exchange Commission database EDGAR you can search company filings such as annual reports. Search by company name, Ticker symbol or CIK (central index key). Use EDGAR's guides to help you.

Business and Industry 

Through  American FactFinder, try either an advanced search or guided search the US Census' datasets such as Economic Census, County Business Patterns, American Community Survey (ACS), Annual Survey of Manufacturers, Survey of Business Owners or Non-employer Statistics to learn about a business and industry. Labor and Employment

Through the Bureau of Labor Statistics, you can get key information on occupations, pay and benefits, inflation and prices, consumer spending, employment and unemployment.
