EBSCOhost New Interface

The CSUN University Library will make the transition to new the interface on Tuesday, August 5, 2025

Why the change?

EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) provides information resources and tools to libraries, including EBSCOhost, a database platform for searching articles and other materials. EBSCO has used customer feedback, usage data, user research, and usability studies to update the EBSCOhost interface. The primary concerns they aimed to address were:

  • Modernizing their Interface

  • Meeting Accessibility Guidelines

  • Adding More Customization Features 

  • Creating a Responsive Design for All Devices

IMPORTANT: Before the library makes the switch, please download or move any saved items in your custom or shared EBSCO folders to your My Folder.  Any items saved to custom or shared folders, in addition to the following items in your general MyEBSCO folder, are not available in My Dashboard: companies, webpages, journal alerts, search alerts, persistent link to searches, notes, pages, other content sources. 

  • EBSCO provides download options for classic custom folders to users with personalized accounts. 

My EBSCOhost Account: Data & Privacy

Through our authentication service, a "My EBSCOhost Account" may be created for you automatically in EBSCO. Optional data such as your first name, last name, and CSUN email address have been shared to provide a personalized experience and access to our online material. Your email address is required if you wish to download ebooks from their databases.

To manage your account's data and privacy:

1) Click on MyEbsco account link at the top right corner of the page.

2) Click on Manage your account. At the bottom of the page, click on Personal Data Retention and Usage
