Misinformation is a label used to identify misleading information. It can be distributed unknowingly, or in the case of disinformation, spread with the intent to deceive, confuse, or render something untrustworthy. Misinformation can range from exaggeration (or distortion of the truth) to gross manipulations such as deep fakes.
