Autonomous Systems

TAAS addresses research on autonomous and adaptive systems being undertaken by an increasingly interdisciplinary research community -- and provide a common platform under which this work can be published and disseminated. TAAS encourages contributions aimed at supporting the understanding, development, and control of such systems and of their behaviors.

Autonomous Robots reports on the theory and applications of robotic systems capable of some degree of self-sufficiency. It features papers that include performance data on actual robots in the real world. Coverage includes: computational architectures for autonomous systems; human-robot interaction; learning and adaptation in robots; manipulation and locomotion; multi-robot systems; planning and navigation; studies of autonomous robot systems; sensing and perception; self-calibration and self-repair for robots.

The purpose of this journal is to provide an international platform for the communication of knowledge and solutions in the area of the research and design of autonomous vehicles and systems operating in all media and inter-medium environments: ground, air, space, and water. The focus of this journal is on a vehicle system-of-systems approach to modeling, simulation, and design. The vehicle applications include but are not limited to personal and cargo transportation, construction and forestry, farming, scientific research, investigation of the underground, air and water, exploration of other planets, infrastructure monitoring, surveillance and military, etc.

The Journal of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles publishes peer-reviewed, open access research on all aspects of intelligent and connected vehicles (ICVs) technology, in association with the State Key Laboratory of Automotive Safety and Energy based at Tsinghua University.

This journal will carry articles which describe fundamental developments in the field of robotics, with special emphasis on autonomous systems, including the theoretical, computational and experimental aspects of autonomous systems, or modules of such systems. An important goal of this journal is to extend the state of the art in both symbolic and sensory based robot control and learning in the context of autonomous systems.

The SAE International Journal of Connected and Automated Vehicles furthers the state of the art of engineering research by promoting high-quality theoretical and applied investigations in the arena of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) in on-road, off-road, and aerial operational environments.

Science Robotics provides a forum for the latest technological advances and for the critical social, ethical and policy issues surrounding robotics. It is multidisciplinary, covering the traditional disciplines of robotics, as well as emerging trends such as advanced materials and bio-inspired designs; it covers all scales, from very large systems to micro/nano robots; its scope is broad, addressing both theoretical advances and practical applications; and it promotes reproducibility, facilitated by online supplementary materials and design/code repositories.

The Annual Review of Control, Robotics, and Autonomous Systems provides comprehensive reviews of significant theoretical and applied developments that impact the engineering of autonomous and semiautonomous systems. The broad fields of control and robotics are the major areas covered, together with connections to theoretical and applied mechanics, optimization, communication, information theory, machine learning, computing, and signal processing. The journal will cover important intersections with fields outside of engineering, including biology, neuroscience, and human behavioral sciences.
