Welcome

The University Library is open to high school students and the public during regular Library hours. This research guide will provide local high school students with information about using the University Library in-person and using the Internet to locate credible resources for high school research assignments. High School students are always encouraged to use their school library, media center, and/or teacher librarian as their first stop. Public libraries also have extensive resources for high school students.

As you conduct your research with the help of CSUN University Library resources, please be aware of the following:

  • You need to come to the University Library if you want to access University Library articles, databases, eBooks, etc. The Library does not offer remote access to materials to non-CSUN students, staff, or faculty.
  • See Library Hours and Campus Map to plan your visit.
  • For the most up-to-date COVID protocols, please see the Campus Visitors information page
  • While you are at the University Library, you can access most of the Library’s resources. You will be able save articles or select book chapters while using a Library computer. You will not be able to access our databases or online resources (such as ebook full-text) from outside the library. Saving resources to USB drives or emailing articles to yourself is recommended for high school researchers visiting the University Library.
  • Students must always adhere to library and high school student-specific policies, including our Library Code of Conduct.
  • Librarians are available to help you with your research questions at the Reference desk on the main floor of the Library during reference desk hours. You can also use Ask a Librarian to obtain help virtually.
