Data

This guide is to help students and faculty with finding, sharing, and using data.

Data Literacy

Data literacy is directly linked to information literacy in the ways pertaining to recognizing the need for data, understanding how to find it, analyze and evaluate it, then use it to convey information.

The goal is to understand what the data mean when reading graphs and charts so that it becomes recognizable when data is used inappropriately or inaccurately.

Soon you will be able to formulate and answer questions using appropriate data to interpret information and evaluate evidence-based thinking to solve problems.

This can be accomplished by using numbers, text, and images to represent data in your communications.

This guide intends to provide you with access to open datasets, repositories, and management solutions so that you can be able to create, share, preserve, and fully utilize the data you find to better support your research needs.
