Register to Vote


Cast Your Vote

All California voters will automatically receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the June primary, starting on May 9.  (No ballot in your mailbox yet? Check here.)
You have three options:

  1. Mail your ballot back in, no stamp needed, by June 7; or
  2. Turn in your ballot in person to a secure ballot drop box, to a voting location, or your county elections office by 8:00 p.m. on June 7, 2022; or 
  3. Vote in person on election day at your polling location.



California Primary Election June 7, 2022

The last day to register to vote in the June primary is May 23, 2022.

Your primary Election ballot will include candidates for U.S. Senate. There are two contests for U.S. Senate on this ballot. You can vote for both contests.

  • One for a standard 6-year term ending January 3, 2029; and
  • One for the remainder of the current term ending January 3, 2023

Other positions on the ballot will include: Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Attorney General,  Insurance Commissioner, Member of State Board of Equalization, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, U.S. Representative in Congress, State Senator, State Assembly Member, and other local candidates.
