Register to Vote

 

Cast Your Vote

All California voters will automatically receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the June primary, starting on May 9.  (No ballot in your mailbox yet? Check here.)
You have three options:

  1. Mail your ballot back in, no stamp needed, by June 7; or
  2. Turn in your ballot in person to a secure ballot drop box, to a voting location, or your county elections office by 8:00 p.m. on June 7, 2022; or 
  3. Vote in person on election day at your polling location.

 

 

California Primary Election June 7, 2022

Important Dates: 

September 20, 2022: National Voter Registration Day

October 24, 2022: Last day to register to vote for the November 8, 2022, General Election

October 29, 2022: Vote centers open in all Voter’s Choice Act counties

November 8, 2022: State General Election day. Last day to return your vote-by-mail ballot by mail with prepaid postage postmarked on or before this date. You can also vote in-person by returning your ballot to a secure ballot drop box, to a voting location or your county elections office by 8:00 p.m. on November 8, 2022.

 

What’s on the ballot?

Your general Election ballot will include

  • Ballot Propositions

  • Statewide candidates for U.S. Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner, Member of State Board of Equalization, State Superintendent of Public Instruction

  • U.S. Representative in Congress, State Senator, State Assembly Member

  • Supreme Court Justices, as well as other local candidates and local measures.
