Uncataloged Maps

Finding Other Uncataloged Maps
Most of the Map Collection's holdings are uncataloged and not searchable through OneSearch. The Map Collection maintains a large internal database of map holdings, and staff are available to help you find and use some of our "hidden" collections. You can always make an appointment with Map Collection staff to discuss your research needs. Some types of uncataloged cartographic resources include:

  • Aerial photographs
  • Historical maps of the world's regions
  • Aero/Nautical charts
  • Gazetteers
  • Thomas Guide city street atlases
  • Government maps (U.S. and other governments)
  • Rare travel ephemera and pamphlets
  • Braille maps
  • Cartographic archival collections
